Our world faces growing societal and human-driven Earth system challenges. The Anthropocene concept can raise awareness of accelerated change. Given its spatial and temporal complexity, imaginative thinking is crucial. Image-based books and graphic science novels can support this by enabling time jumps, parallel narratives, and future scenarios. These formats foster participation, creativity, and deeper understanding of complex challenges, supporting more engaged and imaginative co-design of desirable futures.
